Our minds are constantly thinking about the past or what might happen in the future – and of course we can’t change the past and we don’t know the future. By projecting our thoughts forward or backward we help create patterns of anxiety, fear and worry based on – well, nothing really - just our imaginations and habitual thoughts.
These thoughts and their associated emotions can interfere in your enjoyment of life right here and now and it’s what you do NOW that will be the foundation of your future.

Science has finally caught up with ancient knowledge and agrees that meditation can greatly enhance your feelings of well being, making you calmer and less judgemental of yourself and others. Our classes will begin with a brief discussion on an aspect of meditation with an opportunity to ask questions. Various meditation techniques will be introduced over the course. These may include mindfulness meditation, guided imagery & sound therapy meditation to name a few. At the end of the course you will have some tools to enable you to continue your new practice at home or in another class.
Meditation is a way to stay centred in the present moment with a clear uncluttered mind. This allows insight into the best way to respond or act on current circumstances for the benefits of yourself and others. It is possible to empty your mind from distracting thoughts and negative emotions. It does take practice however you first must learn how.
It is through meditation that we can experience mindfulness & awareness, leading to wisdom and the opening of the heart from where compassion and loving-kindness appear.
Classes are not religious per say but will draw on examples in all traditions including the non-traditional. They are not aligned with any wider organization, religious group etc.. All welcome.
