Do you suffer from symptoms of anxiety or depression? Would you like to learn new skills that may help you on your path? Our 6 week group Mindfulness for Anxiety and Depression provides a safe space to learn new skills that will help you move forward. These sessions are only for those with a current Mental Health Care Plan and Group Sessions allocated. Check with your Medical Practitioner to see if you qualify.

This group program is based upon the principles of Mindfulness Integrated Behaviour Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Dwelling on the past and worrying about the future are recipes for stress and anxiety.

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to, and seeing clearly whatever is happening in our lives.  Mindfulness is about experiencing the world that is firmly in the ‘here and now.’

When a person is mindful, they:

  • focus on the present moment
  • don't get caught up thinking about the past or the future
  • purposefully concentrate on what’s happening around them
  • can hold their difficult thoughts & feelings more lightly
  • are less judgemental
  • respond rather than react

This 5 week group will address the following:

  • What is mindfulness?
  • How can mindfulness assist with anxiety & depression?
  • How can I "get out of my head" and re-connect with the world around me?
  • How can I be more focused in the present moment?
  • How can I be more in touch with my breath and body?
  • How do I stop my mind from worrying?
  • How can I hold difficult feelings more lightly?
  • How can I get in touch with a transcendent sense of self?

To join this group you will need a current Mental Health Care Plan from your GP with Group Psychologist Sessions allocated with Elly Bailey (Registered Psychologist)

FEE $210 (Medicare rebate of $129.90 with valid Mental health Care Plan)

Bulk Billed for those with valid Mental Health Care Plan & who qualify (see below) Bulk Billing clients please register as unpaid.

To hold you place please register below as unpaid. Otherwise you can register and pay securely online or phone 42263777. You are required to bring your current Mental Health Care plan and Medicare Card with you to your 1st session. Please arrive by 5.30pm to finalise registration. limited places available.

Bulk Billing
Wellness Centre Psychology Sessions including Groups offers bulk billing (ID required) for those with

  • financial hardship
  • full time students over 18 years of age
  • a valid Health Care Card
  • a valid blue pension card.
