Stress Management & Meditation for Beginners in Wollongong

By learning how to meditate you can learn to let go of the past enabling you to enjoy and participate in the present. Learn techniques that can help you stop worrying and use your mind more constructively. Give yourself a break - Silence the mind
Our minds are constantly thinking about the past or what might happen in the future. These thoughts and their associated emotions can interfere in our enjoyment of life and appreciation of what we have available to us now. Uncontrolled thought can lead to feelings of stress and distress. “I can’t switch my mind off” is such a common experience for many people. “Relax” your friends and family may say. The big question is how do I turn off these constant, tiring, unwanted and interfering thoughts. It is a habit that can be modified significantly with meditation.
There are a number of simple meditation techniques that can be learn’t and practiced in a group classes that can result in significant immediate effects. You can learn how to be the observer of yourself and others without judgement & criticism. Find a place within yourself where you will relax, regenerate and be energized.
Meditation is a way to stay centred in the present moment with a clear uncluttered mind. This allows insight into the best way to repond or act on current circumstances for the benefits of yourself and others. It is possible to empty your mind from distracting thoughts and negative emotions. It does take practice however you first must learn how.

Beginners Meditation classes at the Wellness Centre Wollongong are held on Monday  evenings at 8.00pm.
Each class will begin with a brief discussion on an aspect of stress management & mediation with an opportunity to ask questions. Various meditation types will be briefly discussed and followed by a mediation practice. These may include mindfulness meditation, guided imagery & sound therapy meditation to name a few.
Experience meditation for yourself. These classes are aimed at beginners from 14 years and upward.
Meditation is not a matter of belief or disbelief. This is an experience you can have for yourself that no-one can take away from you. These classes are not religious per say but will draw on examples in all traditions including the non-traditional. They are not aligned with any wider organization, religious group etc.. All welcome.

Bookings are essential. Please call 42263777 to register your interest or for more information. These classes are available to any of those with Wellness Centre Wollongong's class passes or memberhips. Casual attendance is $20 as per normal fee schedule for all Pilates/Yoga/Stretch classes.
