What is qi ?
When we are healthy an abundant amount of  qi  or "life energy" flows through the body's meridians (energy pathways).Should the nergy be depleted ,blocked or imbalanced then the body will have symptoms of this imbalance. These imbalances can be associated with stress, overwork, poor diet, even, weather and environmental conditions. Practitioners understand these signs of health and dysfunction and armed with a  medical history diagnose the imbalances using a chinese medicine paradigm.

How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into acupuncture points which are along the body's energy meridians This is said to help clear  blockages and encourage the normal flow of qi through the body.

Acupuncture has been shown to have the following benefits:

  • provides drug-free pain relief
  • effectively treats a wide range  ailments
  • treats underlying causes of disease and illness not just the symptoms
  • links the body, mind and emotions in approaching  the treatment of disease and illness,
